Tired of Failing at Diet and Exercise? Try This Approach

Tired of Failing at Diet and Exercise? Try This Approach

Make Health and Fitness fit your life, not the other way around

The Problem

When you try a specific exercise or diet plan, failure usually happens because it didn't fit your life.  Or, worse than trying and failing, you don’t even do it at all because it’s not possible without giving up your life, and you can’t  or don’t want to give up your life.  I don’t blame you.  Going on a specific diet or following someone else’s exercise routine is very difficult because it’s not made to fit your life.  It’s like putting a square peg in a round hole.  We try to make it fit, but eventually we get tired of trying and quit.  Or even worse, we see that it won’t fit, so we choose to do nothing.

The Solution

The solution is to make diet and exercise fit your life.  I know what you are thinking though, “I can’t possibly get results living the life I am currently living.”  Most people are in the 90 percent, what I refer to as normal people, but they think they have to live like the 10 percent, the ones who live the crazy exercise and diet lifestyle, to get results.  The shift in thinking is to find a way to add exercise to your current life and to make some changes to your current eating habits.  Think improvements verses perfection.

It’s Easier Than You Think

You may not be able to take that class at the gym 5 days per week or you may not be able to follow an hour long at-home daily workout plan.  But there is something you can do.  Based off of your current physical abilities, your current time and schedule, and any other lifestyle factors, what are some things you can do?  Get out a piece of paper and write them down.  If you aren’t sure, then get in touch with me or anyone who knows a decent amount about exercise and ask them for some tips on things you can do based on your current parameters.  There are plenty of options.  You just need to find them and start doing them.  (Email me at info@hooverfitnesssolutions.com and I’ll be glad to give you some ideas)

The same goes for your diet.  We don’t want to go on a diet, we want to improve your diet.  Take a look at your current daily eating habits.  What are some things that you can adjust that won’t cause you to feel deprived or cause you to have to miss out on anything?  There are plenty of ways to improve your diet with little sacrifice.  If you aren’t sure, email me your current eating habits and I’ll show you an easy improvement or two. Or you can always learn the full easy-to-follow calorie budgeting system that allows you to eat the foods you love and still get results.

Change Your Thinking

It requires a mindset shift.  Contrary to what you have probably always believed, health and fitness are not all or nothing.  They are constant and improving.  Make it fit your life, and adjust as you progress along in your journey.
